about
When I was writing this album, I happened to go through a period of mental health issues, and this song is a reflection of a number of issues that I was going through. Some days, I would be fine, others I would be really down. But through all of this, I am able to make a choice to love the one that God created, and one that is created in God’s image. It doesn’t mean that everything will be fine, but I can choose to celebrate the good days, and I can choose to love and follow God’s commands to the best of my ability each day.
lyrics
Verse 1
I’m feeling down, I’m in a fuzz
I can’t seem to sort things out
I wish I could say why, because
I just don’t understand
I’m feeling down, I’m in a fuzz
I can’t seem to sort things out
I wish I could say why, because
I just don’t understand
Pre Chorus
Some days are good, some days are bad.
Some days I’m great, but some days I’m sad
But I can make a choice
Chorus
I can choose to love me Lord
‘cause that’s what you adore
I am who I am
You made me just the way that I am
I can choose to celebrate
To choose to love and not to hate
I can make this choice
So I’ll choose to love me as I am.
Verse 2
Society will tell me that
I need to look a certain way
But no matter how hard I try
I just don’t fit the bill
So instead I try to listen
To your word and not the world
You’re the one, the voice of reason
The one I need to hear
Pre Chorus
Some days are good, some days are bad.
Some days I’m great, but some days I’m sad
But I can make a choice
Chorus
I can choose to love me Lord
‘cause that’s what you adore
I am who I am
You made me just the way that I am
I can choose to celebrate
To choose to love and not to hate
I can make this choice
So I’ll choose to love me as I am.
